No COVID-19 death reported first time in nearly 3 months in J&K

155 new COVID-19 infections recorded

Srinagar: For the first time in nearly three months, no fresh COVID-19 deaths were reported in Jammu and Kashmir, even the cumulative infection tally climbed to 3,18,848 with 155 new cases reported on Monday.

Of the latest cases, 113 were reported from the Kashmir division and 42 from the Jammu division, the officials said.

At 33, Srinagar district recorded the highest number of cases, followed by 14 in Kulgam, they said.

Moreover, 448 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals including 228 from Jammu and 220 from Kashmir, they said.

The officials said there are 31 confirmed cases of mucormycosis or black fungus in the union territory. No fresh case was reported the previous day.

They also said so far 98.12 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 3,18,848 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 2,709 are active positive cases in J&K,  while as 3,11,782 have recovered and 4,357 have died – 2,231 in Kashmir and 2,126 in Jammu division.

The bulletin further said that out of 1,06,73,690 test results available, 1,03,54,842 samples have tested negative till today.

Till date 25,70,745 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 8,989 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by the government, 2,709 in isolation and 2,75,937 in home surveillance while as 22,78,753 persons have completed their surveillance period, the bulletin informed.
