Srinagar: J&K unit of  Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday said those responsible for disturbing peace and making people of Kashmir to suffer for decade’s together should ‘apologize’ as they have lost their ‘relevance’ among the masses.

Addressing a press conference ahead of the first death anniversary of Bari family of Bandipora, BJP’s J&K unit general secretary Vibodh Gupta asserted that people prefer Prime Minister Narendra Modi over those, who he alleged disturbed the peaceful environment of the Valley for more than 30 years.

“Kashmir witnessed bloodshed, terrorism, separatism and stone pelting for decade’s and those responsible for making people of Kashmir to suffer should apologize. Gone are the days when people used to discuss Yasin Malik, Shabir Shah and Geelani; they now discuss PM Modi,” Gupta added.

He also said there is a sharp decline in stone-pelting incidents in Kashmir “while militancy has entered into its last phase and separatism almost died”.

Gupta said Prime Minister Narendra Modi “wants to make Kashmir a tourism hub and wishes tourists from across the globe should visit the valley and enjoy the beauty of real paradise on earth.”

The BJP leader said the “PM wants Kashmir to flourish in every sector be it tourism, shawl weaving or saffron growing so that the people witness a new dawn of peace and development.”

Referring to last year’s incident in Bandipora in which BJP district president, his father and brother were killed, Gupta said the sacrifices rendered by the BJP workers would not go waste.

He said the party has organized an event on the first death anniversary of Waseem Bari and his father and brother in Bandipora tomorrow to pay tributes to them.
