Bandipora: The Jammu and Kashmir police have booked a district development council (DDC) member of JK Apni party from Arin constituency for assaulting a revenue official in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday.

Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a team of revenue officials including assistant commissioner revenue Bandipora, Parvaiz Rahim and Tehsildar Bandipora, Sheikh Tariq along with other officials were conducting inspection for construction of a road at Kudara village in Arin panchayat block.

They said that during their visit, DDC member of JKAP, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Rather allegedly assaulted Tehsildar Bandipora, following which the revenue officials lodged a complaint against the DDC member.

The sources said that police have registered a case FIR No. 107/2021 under section 307, 392, 353 IPC against the DDC member at Police station Bandipora.

Notably, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Rather had joined the Jammu and Kashmir Apni party recently after winning DDC election from Arin block—(KNO)
