Srinagar: Police in Srinagar have solved five theft cases by arresting six accused persons involved in the commission of crimes and have recovered stolen property from their possession, said a police spokesperson.

“Officers from Police Station Shaheed Gunj arrested 03 Juvenile accused persons and recovered 03 Scooties, 01 Bike & a Maruti car along with bunch of keys and other equipments used in the commission of crimes from them. Out of three Juvenile accused persons one is resident of UP who is expert in making duplicate keys. All the Juvenile accused persons were sent to Juvenile Home by Hon’ble Court on remand. In this regard, cases vide FIR numbers 65/2021, 66/2021 and 69/2021 under relevant section of laws already stands registered in Police Station Shaheed Gunj,” the spokesperson said.

“Similarly, Police solved a theft case FIR No 73/2021 of PS Shaheed Gunj in which cash amount of ₹4 lakh was stolen from a vehicle at Old Secretariat Srinagar. Police have arrested one accused person from Lawaypora who was involved in the commission of crime and have recovered stolen amount from his possession,” he said.

“Moreover, during the investigation of case FIR No. 67/2021 of PS Shaheed Gunj, Police have arrested 02 accused persons and have recovered cash amount of ₹52000/- from their possession. Our efforts should assure community members that Police is resolved to act tough against the individuals involved in criminal activities,” he added.
