Int’l Yoga Day celebrations held across Kashmir

Srinagar: 7th International Yoga Day celebrations were held across the UT of J&K.

The event, orgnanized by Sports Council at TRC, received well response by the public.

Owing to Covid-19 SOPs, the number of participants was restricted and all the necessary steps were taken to adhere to the Government guidelines.

Junaid Azim Matoo, Mayor, SMC was the chief guest at one of the events held at TRC Football/Cricket ground Srinagar.

Nuzhat Gull, Secretary J&K Sports Council expressed her gratitude to the entire administration, Dignitaries, Officers, officials and media fraternity for turning to the venues early morning and making this event a grand success.

Meanwhile, the health department, Srinagar also organized a similar event here with the theme “BE WITH YOGA, BE AT HOME.

The session was organized as per the guidelines of Ministry of AYUSH Govt of India and the COVID 19 SOP’s. The event was conducted by Dr Asif Kundangar, Dr Rehana (Yoga therapist) and Dr Ruhail John.

It was telecasted live through Zoom Meeting where in more than 100 participants joined the session.

Assistant District Medical Officer Srinagar Dr Ruksana Jabeen presented vote of thanks .She appreciated all the participants including medical officers of Srinagar district

ANANTNAG: The department of Youth Services and Sports in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Anantnag organised the main event at sports stadium Anantnag where students, volunteers and officials participated amid strict observance of Covid SOPs.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh presided over the event as Chief Guest and administered oath/pledge to the participants.

The event was also attended by District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Mushtaq Ahmad, District Youth Coordinator, Khalil Ahmad Mir, Zonal Physical Education Officer Bashir Ahmad, students from various educational institutions, volunteers and field functionaries of the concerned departments.

PULWAMA: District Administration Pulwama in collaboration with Department of Youth Services and Sports and AYUSH and NYK today organized a function in connection with celebration of 7th International Day of Yoga with the theme “Be with Yoga, Be at Home”.

The function was joined by the Chairperson DDC Syed Abdul Bari Andrabi, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer-ul-Choudary, all District officers and employees of various departments including NYK who performed Yoga Asnas following all the SOP’s.

KUPWARA: International Yoga Day was celebrated across district Kupwara with zeal and enthusiasm. Apart from participation of school children in 24 blocks of the district, people from different walks of life including women, adults and youth, participated in various yoga events held in the district. The theme of this year’s International Yoga Day is ‘Be with Yoga, be at Home’.

The main official event which was organized by Department of AYUSH Kupwara and District Youth Services & Sports department Kupwara was held at Boys Higher Secondary School Kupwara.

On the occasion, Assistant District Medical Officer (ADMO) Kupwara Dr. Farooq Iqbal and District Youth Services & Sports (DYS&S) Officer, Jinterder Singh was present.

The International Yoga Day was also celebrated at TRC Kupwara and Dak Banglow Kupwara in which people from different walks of life participated with zeal and enthusiasm.

SHOPIAN: Youth Services & Sports Department Shopian in collaboration with Indian Systems of Medicine, AYUSH   today Organized 7th International Yoga Day at Bohrihallan Shopian. On the occasion, different expert Yoga teachers initially briefed about the essence of Yogic exercises on the health of individuals.

The event was inaugurated by DC Shopian in presence of Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, District Information Officer Shopian, District AYUSH Officer, District Youth Sports Officer and other concerned.

Meanwhile the Self Help Groups registered under National Rural Livelihood Mission also celebrated Yoga day at all blocks of the district.

KULGAM: International Day of Yoga 2021 with a theme, “Be with Yoga Be at Home” celebrated at Kulgam today.

The Yoga sessions were organized by District Administration Kulgam in collaboration with AYUSH and Youth Services and Sports Department.

Similar Yoga session held in premises of mini-secretariat Kulgam today.

The Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat also participated in Yoga session and performed various yog Asanes.

The session was also attended by staff of AYUSH Department, Physical teachers and other staff of Youth services sports Department besides students and employees participated in this Yoga Session.

BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad led the celebrations of the International Yoga Day by practicing yoga at SK Stadium Bandipora on Monday morning.

A  simple yet impressive programme was organized which was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, District Nodal Officer ISM, Dr Reyaz Ahmad, DySP Headquarters Dr Mohammad Idrees, DySP DAR Ishfaq Alam, officers of Youth Service and Sports , Bandipora police and students of several educational institutes participated in the event while several other officers performed yoga at home amid COVID19 pandemic protocols and connected through video conferencing as as per the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.

BARAMULLA: To mark the celebration of International Yoga Day 2021 being observed every year on 21st of June, a special yoga event was today organized here at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Baramulla in which students from several educational institutions, among other concerned stakeholders, participated with overwhelming zeal and enthusiasm. This year’s theme is ‘Be with Yoga, Be at Home’.

Event was organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports Baramulla in which Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar presided over as the chief guest.

SSP Baramulla Rayees Ahmad Bhat, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Principal GHSS, district and sectoral officers among other concerned functionaries participated in the event.

GANDERBAL: Department of Youth Services & Sports and Department of ISM&H (AYUSH) Ganderbal today jointly organized District level 7th International Day of Yoga in the lawns of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal in which officials of district administration participants.

Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Muzafar Ahmed was the chief Guest on the occasion along with Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Baba.

District Youth Services & Sports Officer Shafkat Iqbal, District Nodal officer ISM&H Mushtaq Ahmad, activity Incharge DYSSO Ganderbal, Mohammad Maqbool & other staff members were present on the occasion.

BUDGAM: District Youth Services & Sports Office Budgam Organized an event on the occasion of 7th International Yoga Day at Sports Stadium Budgam, which witnessed participation of huge number of Students. On the occasion, different expert Yoga teachers initially briefed about the essence of Yogic exercises for the health of individuals.

Deputy Commissioner Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza & SSP Tahir Saleem were the Chief Guests and other prominent dignitaries including District Officer Ayush Raja Amjad & District Youth Services Sports Officer Mtr. Masrat Jan.
