Baramulla: A double-storey residential house was gutted in a fire incident that broke out on Tuesday midnight in Zehanpora locality of Boniyar in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Locals said that the fire broke out at around 11:50 PM in Sheikh Mohalla locality of Zehanpora village in Tehsil Boniyar.
They said that soon after the fire broke out local reached the spot and tried to douse the flames but couldn’t bring the massive fire under control.
People alleged that despite repeated calls to the fire service and police nobody reached for their help, later fire tenders from Baramulla and Uri reached but the entire residential house was destroyed by fire and property worth lakhs of rupees was reduced to ashes.
However, there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the incident.
Locals said that the house belongs to Lal Shiekh son Abdul Aziz Sheikh and his three sons  Bilal Ahmad Sheikh son of Lal Sheikh, Tariq Ahmad Sheikh son of Lal Sheikh, Farooq Ahmad Sheikh son of Lal Sheikh and his brother Abdul Majeed Sheikh son of Aziz Sheikh from Sheikh Mohalla Zehanpora.
They said that property worth lakhs were destroyed in the fire incident, whereas the reason for the fire was yet to be ascertained.
