Kulgam: Security Forces Saturday recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from a vehicle on national highway near Qazigund area in Kulgam district and arrested two persons.
A police spokesman said that a joint team of security forces arrested two person during random checking in Lower Munda area of Qazigund in a dumper truck bearing registration number JK02BB-0949 with arms and ammunition.
“A huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the dumper including 2 AK 56 rifles, 8 AK magazines, 10 9mm pistols, 18 pistol magazines, 90 9×19 mm ammunition and 9 grenades,” the spokesman said.
The arrested persons were identified as Mehraj Ahmad Bhat and Zahid Nabi Dar hailing from Sambora village of Pulwama district, said the spokesman.
A case under FIR NO 127/2021 Under section 7/25 IA Act 13, 16, 18B 19, 20, 38, 39, ULAP Act has been registered and further investigation has been taken up, the spokesman said.
