J&K reports 1723 fresh COVID-19 cases, 34 deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported 1723 fresh positive cases of novel Covid-19 while 34 more people died of the infection.

Of the 1723 new cases, 1124 were from the Kashmir valley while 599 were reported from Jammu division. With these cases, the total number of positive cases recorded cumulatively so far across J&K reached 2,97,602, officials said.

They said of the 34 COVID-19 deaths reported in past 24 hours, 21 were reported from Kashmir Valley 13 from the Jammu division.

They also said that 2731 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals during this period. This includes 1624 from Kashmir and 1107 from Jammu division.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (COVID-19), out of 2,97,602 positive cases cumulatively recorded so far, currently there are 29,615 active positive cases across Jammu and Kashmir, while 2,63,961 have recovered so far and 4026 have died — 2066 in Kashmir and1960 in Jammu division.

The bulletin further said that out of 87,46,810 test results available, 84,49,208 samples have been tested negative till June 04, 2021.

Till date 21,35,558 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 80,993 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by the government, 29,615 in isolation and 1,45,655 in home surveillance while 18,75,269 persons have completed their surveillance period, the bulletin informed.
