Srinagar: The vaccination drive for 18-44 age group started in six more districts today after it was started in two districts of Jammu and Srinagar on May 01.

Immunisation Officer Dr Shahid Hussain said that on Tuesday, the vaccination drive for 18-44 was started in six more districts of Jammu and Kashmir, KNO reported.

He said that in Jammu district, the drive was started in Udhampur, Kuthua and Rajouri while as in Kashmir division, the drive was started in Anantnag, Baramulla and Budgam districts.

He said in remaining districts the vaccination drive will start very soon.

Dr Shahid also added that as of now there is no shortage of vaccination in the UT.

Pertinently, the vaccination started in Jammu and Kashmir on January 16 and first health-care and front-line workers were covered.

Later the vaccination was started for all above 60 years and then for all above 45 and on May 01, the vaccination drive for 18-44 year age group was started in Srinagar and Jammu districts.

However, due to shortage of vaccines, drive couldn’t be started in remaining 18 districts and it was finally started in six districts today.
