Project Director reviews dev works being executed under Samagra Shiksha at Baramulla

Srinagar: Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj, today visited Baramulla district to review the ongoing civil works being executed by School Education Department under Samagra Shiksha.

He visited Girls’ Hostels Baramulla, Kreeri, Hostel Mirgund Patan and Girls’ Hostel Panzipura. Besides, he visited Kasturba Gani Balika Vidyalaya, Wagora, Baramulla.

Pertinently, these Girls’ Hostels had been approved under centrally sponsored scheme, Samagra Shiksha with an objective to provide equitable platform for girls to pursue education.

During the visit, Director issued strict instructions to concerned Executive Engineers to expedite these constructions for completion in a time bound manner. He directed them to complete the works of KGBVs by August 2021.

Regarding KGBV Wagoora, Director asked the Chief Education Officer to complete the process of shifting of girl inmates from rented to the government building positively by 1st July, 2021. He also issued necessary instructions to Executive Engineer for floating tenders for procuring beddings and other essential items for Girl’s Hostel Panzipura before 31st of July, 2021.

Later, he visited construction works at Government High School Chek Sarai which was approved under supplementary PAB as part of gutted building. Project Director also visited Arts, Crafts and Library of Government High School Kreeri.

Meanwhile, he chaired a review meeting and took stock of fund position approved under different components of Samagra Shiksha. He asked the concerned officers to utilize the funds judiciously.

Director also asked the CEO to start distribution of dry ration among the beneficiary students for the month of April and May 2021 by involving representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions.

Those who accompanied the Project Director were Executive Engineers of School Education Department, Chief Education Officer Baramulla, Assistant Executive Engineers and Junior Engineers from Samagra Shiksha as well as R&B Department.
