Recovery rate continuously increasing, positive rate diminishing in Baramulla: DC

Baramulla: Briefing about the latest position of Covid-19 pandemic and the measures taken by the District Administration, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar today informed that the recovery rate of patients is continuously increasing whereas the positivity rate is drastically reduced from the past few days.

The DC said that this became possible by the active public cooperation that abided by the requisite SOPs and guidelines pertaining to the pandemic.

While expressing the gratitude of the people, the DC hoped that the people will further cooperate with the administrative functionaries for combating the challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that only coordinated and joint initiatives of different stakeholders may prove beneficial to come out of these critical circumstances.

Enlisting various initiatives, the DC said that in the recently established 62 bedded additional ward at GMC, ventilators are being used on case to case basis which is a positive development of its kind. He also added that 05 additional Covid-19 wellness centers were also established in addition to the already existing centers so as to cope with the growing challenge.

The DC further said that 05 bedded Covid Care Centres (CCCs) are being established at the Panchayat level which apart from delivering medicare services, shall be used to disseminate necessary awareness among the masses. He said that 03 oxygen plants are currently operating in the district and efforts are afoot to augment its stock position.

When asked about the status of the Covid-19 vaccination programme, the DC informed that about 70 percent of the target have been achieved and about 2.75 lakh eligible beneficiaries having age above 45 years and frontline workers, have been vaccinated.

Regarding the developmental scenario, Kumar said that work on various developmental projects is going on without any kind of disturbance. He added that workers are following all the SOPs at the working sites so as to avert any kind of exigency.

Moreover, the DC also said that various welfare measures were taken and Rs 4.42 Cr was released among 42,200 registered building and construction workers as part of ist instalment of Covid-19 relief announced by J&K administration.
