SRINAGAR:  Taking a strong exception to the video in which ADC Baramulla is seen thrashing the general public especially the womenfolk under the grab of implementing Covid protocol, Apni Party on Wednesday demanded strong action against the erring officer.

In a statement issued here, an official spokesperson of the Apni Party said that while the enforcement of Covid protocol is welcome, it shouldn’t compromise with the dignity and honour of the people.

“The video surfaced exhibits as if we are living under some despotic rule wherein a bureaucrat has absolute authority to whip people in the middle of the road. The ADC Baramulla has outraged the modesty of women folk as he doesn’t even spare the females from his wrath,” he remarked.

He said that such malpractice and misuse of authority is abhorrible and not acceptable in any civilized society.

“The ADC Baramulla needs to be brought to book and even an FIR needs to be registered against him for insulting, thrashing and manhandling the women. While stern action should be taken against the officer, Apni Party appeals the people to ardently follow the SOPs issued by the government in letter and spirit,” he said.
