400th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji celebrated across Kashmir

SRINAGAR: While Complying the Covid protocol religiously, the 400th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was celebrated today across Kashmir.

On the occasion, Directorate of School Education Kashmir held a series of online Essay Writing, Quiz Competition, Debate and Seminar on the topic ‘Teaching and Sacrifices of Guru TeghBahadur Ji’ in all 10 districts, to throw light on various facets of life and philosophy of Guru Ji.

During the online event as many as 14208 students and 1880 teachers from 1999 different schools participated in these events.

Throwing light on the celebrations, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole said that the Divisional Administration has devised a 16 day long calendar of activities to celebrate the 400th birth anniversary of Guru TeghBahadur Ji and to spread the message of national integration by organising special programs from May 1st to 16th May.

The Necessary changes in these activities will be done to comply covid guidelines and lockdown.

The Div Com Said that the GuruJi’s unparalleled and supreme sacrifice to uphold the value of righteousness, truth and freedom of faith shall always be remembered by one and all.

He emphasized that Guru Ji’s teachings must be disseminated in every nook and corner of the world.

The teachings of Guru Ji were also highlighted by displaying his saying on all Visual Messaging Displays installed in various locations of Srinagar City.

The audio/video message will uninterruptedly run on the screens up to 16th May as per schedule.
