2 hideouts busted in Kulgam; arms recovered in Kulgam: Police

Srinagar, Apr 26: Acting on a credible input, police in Kulgam along with the troops of 34RR and 18 Bn CRPF busted two militant hideouts in the Adipal jungle area of Aharbal, a police spokesman informed Monday.

He said during searches in the area, two hideouts were busted and incriminating materials and arms/ammunition including one PK machine gun 7.62mm,  one UMG, none PK machine gun 7.67 mm carts, one Pistol 9mm (star) with magazine, 9mm Pistol (dis-assembled), 24 9mm Pistol RDS, one Rotating Bolt (AK-47), 237 AK-47 rounds, one Chili grenade, 32 5.56 MM RDS, one AK-47 magazine, four Solar Plate, one pair full hand gloves, two pair half hand gloves, 42 AK-47 fired cases, one combat belt, two combat pouches, two power banks, two pair elbow guard, two pair knee guard, one radio, one emergency LT, two snow goggles, one hand drill, one hammer, two sleeping bags, one torch, two jackets, one burka, three bags, two pair shoes, five pair socks, two face masks, two shirts Army pattern, one shirt CISF pattern, one pant black, one winter cape, painkiller medicines, one traditional cap were recovered from these hideouts.

All the recovered materials have been taken into police custody for the purpose of investigation while the hideouts were destroyed, spokesman said.

He said a case under relevant sections of law stands registered and investigation has been initiated.
