MD KPDCL reviews progress of works, functioning of divisions

SRINAGAR: The Managing Director (MD) Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), Dr Basharat Qayoom, today conducted a day-long tour of various sites and divisions to review their functioning.

The MD visited Central workshop Division Pampore, Electric Central Store Division Pampore and under construction receiving station located at Shar Pulwama.

During the visit to Electric Workshop Division Pampore, the Executive Engineer apprised the MD about the frequency of damaged transformers received in the division on a daily basis and the position of Buffer Stock available.

The MD asked the concerned Executive Engineer to utilise the entire available manpower to repair the transformers in the shortest possible time. He directed the Ex. Engineer to maintain sufficient buffer stock including Power transformers so that the same becomes ready for use in case of any urgent situation.

He further stressed upon strengthening the Central workshop Division so that dependence on SSI units becomes negligible.

He also visited Electric Central Store Division Pampore and took stock of the material present including ST Poles, PCC Poles, ACSR Conductor, Transformer Oil, Transformers and other allied material.

Later, the MD visited Receiving Station Shar and reviewed the progress of work that started February last year.

The concerned Executive Engineer STD Pulwama informed the MD about the progress made till now in the construction of 6.3 MVA Receiving station and the timeline for its completion.

The MD stressed upon the Concerned Ex. Engineer to speed up the work so that the Receiving station is commissioned by August 2021.

Meanwhile, the MD KPDCL during the visit was accompanied by Superintending Engineer Circle Ist and other officials of KPDCL.
