Advisor Baseer Khan chairs 91st BoD meeting of JKTDC

JAMMU: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today chaired the 91st Board of Directors meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) at Civil Secretariat here.

Secretary Tourism, Managing Director JKTDC, Director Tourism Jammu and other officers were present.

While speaking on the occasion, Advisor asked the JKTDC to evolve effective strategies for optimal utilization of its assets and better returns.

He also directed for pursuing pending court cases and other issues of the Corporation by effectively projecting its claims for disposal in a time bound manner.He said that due to the prevailing pandemic JKTDC should come up with innovative strategies for effective utilization of its assets and directed them to improve revenue being generated from its properties.

Advisor also asked the Corporation to revise rates of its properties at different locations on commercial basis taking into account the location details.

Regarding upgradation of utilities, Advisor directed for gainful utilisation of money taking into account the location of tourist spots and other considerations.

MD JKTDC gave a detailed presentation about various steps being taken by JKTDC to improve business and address management issues.He also briefed the Board on the performance of Corporation and its future trajectory based on the business challenges and opportunities. He also gave an insight into the various development works taken up during 2019-20.

The Board also held threadbare discussion on introduction of computer based billing system and creation of accounting software to eliminate pilferage.
