While briefing the Advisor, Deputy Commissioner informed that the District Administration has taken effective steps to increase the holding capacity of yatris from existing 4000 to 10000. He said that additional holding areas have also been identified alongside Jammu-Srinagar National Highway which will be made functional well before the yatra begins.

The Advisor directed the Deputy Commissioner to make all necessary arrangements for Shri Amarnathji pilgrims related to food, accommodation, healthcare and security, so that they do not face any inconvenience during inclement weather or closure of NH-44.

The DC assured the Advisor that the District Administration will take adequate measures to coordinate the Yatra in a hassle-free manner.
