Forces launch search operation in Sopore for the third time

Srinagar: In a late night development, two militants are reportedly holed up in a house in the outskirts of Srinagar city.

The house and the area has been cordoned and surrounded by the joint teams of JK Police and CRPF, sources said.

Sources said that JK Police had an input about the presence of two militants in a house in Zakura area of Srinagar following which the operation was launched.

Police, along with CRPF have cordoned the area and the operation was on when this report was being filed.

A senior official told news agency KNO that CASO has been launched by the joint teams of police and CRPF in Shah-e-Hamdan Colony of Gulab Bagh area of city outskirts.

“CASO is on and one or more militants are believed to be trapped in the area. No contact has been established yet,” the official said wishing not to be named.

Earlier, police had sealed all entry and exit points while as search lights were installed to ensure smooth execution of operation if contact is established with the militants.
