“Whether it is bullet or pellet injuries is being examined,” Dr Choudhary told GNS.

Reports said that soon after the two persons sustained injuries, they were shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Pampore wherefrom they were referred to SMHS hospital for specialized treatment.

The injured have been identified as Ishrat Jan (around 25) and Ghulam Nabi Dar (in early 40s), both from Samboora Pulwama.
Three militant have been killed in the encounter and their identity is yet to be disclosed by the police.

A top Police officer earlier told GNS that the militants were believed to be those responsible for yesterday’s attack on BJP leader’s house at Nowgam Srinagar in which one policeman was killed and his service rifle snatched.

As per reports a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Kakapora amid inputs about the presence of the militants.

As the joint team approached the target spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off an encounter, officials said. “Three unidentified militants have been killed. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition was recovered. Searches are going on. Further details shall follow,” police said. (GNS)
