Municipal Councilor, SPO killed in Sopore militant attack, civilian injured

Baramulla: A councilor of Municipal Committee Sopore and his PSO was killed whereas another cop got injured after militants attacked them near Lone Building in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Witnesses said that councillor Reyaz Ahmad Peer son of Gh Nabi Peer of Ningli Sopore and his PSO Shafqat Nazir Khan son of Nazir Ahmad of Mundji Sopore were killed while as one civilian Shamas din Peer son of Gh Mohd Peer of Khushal Colony Sopore was injured when militants attacked them in Sopore.

“Both the injured were declared brought dead by doctor and injured was rushed to Srinagar hospital,” said an official.

The injured Shamas-din has been reffered to Srinagar.

The police said that whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
