Managing Director JKHPMC gave a detailed presentation about the functioning and achievements of the Corporation.

The meeting adopted the audited accounts of the Corporation for the Financial Years 2005 to 2011.

On the occasion, the Advisor suggested MD JKHPMC to forward the adopted accounts to the Ministry of Agriculture, GoI for their placement before the Parliament.

He also directed the Corporation management to complete the audit of the remaining years of the Corporation within a period of three months.

The meeting was informed that two CA stores with a capacity of 5,000 metric tons each have been approved for execution through JKHPMC, besides three Incubation Centers have been approved by the Ministry of Food Processing Industry (MoFPI) GoI in favour of JKHPMC under the ministry’s, Atma Nirbar scheme.

On the occasion, the Principal Secretary signed a ‘Share Certificate’ of JKHPMC in presence of the Advisor. The ‘Share Certificate’ allocating 79,995 Share of the Corporation in favour of J&K government and likely to be presented to the Lieutenant Governor, UT of J&K, by the Corporation management would render the Corporation completely debt free and entitle it to raise equity/loan from financial institutions for implementing its commercially viable projects.

The Advisor impressed upon the Corporation management to execute all its sanctioned projects in a time bound manner.

Acknowledging horticulture as a key sector in the UT’s economy, the Advisor urged the need for a visible change on ground, for the larger benefit of the growers of the UT.

He said that UT administration is taking major initiatives to turn around the horticulture sector with inclusive focus on production, pre & post-harvesting techniques and marketing of the horticulture produce of the UT.

He emphasized that JKHPMC should set an example for the food processing entrepreneurs, who are willing to set sustainable business units.
