Six residential houses gutted in fire incident in Maharajpora Sopore

Sopore: At least six families have been rendered homeless on Saturday morning after massive fire engulfed Maharajpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to witnesses, fire broke out in the wee hours on Saturday which rapidly spread to the nearby houses resulting in complete damage to six residential houses while two other houses were partially damaged in the devastating inferno.

They said that the fire was brought under control after a team of fire service department and police reached the spot.

A team of Police headed by SDPO Raja Majid, SHO Sopore Azim Iqbal took stock of damaged structures in the area.

SHO Sopore said that a report has been registered and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the cause of fire.
