CII suggests calibrated reopening of sectors based on red, amber and green zones

Srinagar: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has welcomed the budget for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for 2021-22 presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

In a statement issued here, the CII said: “The budget is well-focused and development-oriented.”

Ravnish Gulati Chairman CII J&K Council said: “Earmarking of Funds for DDCs and BDCs will ensure basic infrastructure development in rural J&K. Projected GDP growth of 7.5 % for the year 2021-22 gives us confidence and will surely give impetus to investment in J&K.

He also lauded the Government of India for enhancing budget allocation to industries sector and other basic infrastructure sectors like Power, R&B, Jal Shakti Department which will surely improve the lives of people and also enhance industrial and trade activities in J&K.”

“CII J&K Council lauds the efforts of J&K Administration under the leadership of Hon’ble LG Shri Manoj Sinha ji which has been able to efficiently put together projections for the year 2021-22,” said Gulati.

Ehsan Javaid Vice Chairman J&K Council said: “Enhanced allocation of Rs 695 Crores for Agriculture and Horticulture   will certainly improve the income of farmers and also help in strengthening this key sector.”
