Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) Association on Friday expressed grief over the sad and untimely demise of Sajad Somberia.

The JKAS officer hailing from a remote village of Alinbass Banihal was presently posted as District Social Welfare Officer Udhampur and was also holding the additional charge of District Information Officer.

After attending the funeral prayers at Krimchi Udhampur, an official spokesperson of the Association said that the untimely demise of Sajad Bashir Somberia has shocked the JKAS fraternity. He added that the commitment of the officer towards his services and his unrelenting efforts in the cause of public services will remain a part of our collective memory.

He further said that the Association shares the grief of the family of the deceased officer and the collective heart of the association goes out to the family in this time of sorrow.

He said that fond memories of the deceased would be the source of peace and reflection in these tough times and his devotion towards the services shall be a source of inspiration for all of us.

The officer is survived by three children, wife, and an elderly father.

Besides, serving as District Social Welfare Officer and Block Development Officer, the deceased has also served as Private Secretary to Finance Minister J&K.

Before joining the services in 2011, the Officer was working in J&K Bank.
