JAMMU: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan has directed the authorities in FCS&CA Department to intensify the market checking across J&K to control black marketing and overpricing.

Advisor passed these directions while interacting with various delegations who called upon him at Civil Secretariat here.

The delegations raised the issue of overpricing and hoarding with the Advisor and requested him to check market rates of essential commodities in view of upcoming festivals of Maha Shivratri and Shab – I- Miraj by intensifying the market checking.

The Department of Legal Metrology was directed to gear up for ensuring that essential commodities are available to people as per standard quality and quantity.

The Officials of FCS&CA and Legal Metrology have been further asked to liaison with various enforcement agencies for attaining tangible results on the ground.
