A middle aged woman, who was returning to her home after offering Friday prayers at grand mosque, suffered injuries in her forehead during clashes. She was however, given first aid by the police and was stable before being safely evacuated from the sight.

Police also fired several tear smoke shells and fired pellets to disperse off the stone pelting youth, first time after the abrogation of the special constitutional position in August 2019. No one was however, injured in the police action.

Protests erupted as the authorities did not allow Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, whose house detention was expected to end, to deliver Friday sermon at Jamia Masjid.
