Renowned Pahri writer, academician passes away
Tangmarg: A renowned Pahari writer, scholar and teacher Mohammad Sarwar Khan Rehan from Chak Ferozpora area of Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district passed away today after a brief spell of illness.
According to family sources he breathed his last Saturday morning.
Popularly known as Sarwar Sahib by his students and others, he retired as English Lecturer.
Kashmir Images team has condoled the demise and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family praying for eternal peace of the departed soul.
He was a regular participant in Pahari Programme of All India Radio Srinagar.
Former MLC, Zaffer Iqbal Manhas, Producer Pahari programme All India Radio Srinagar Maqsood Ahmed and Dr Farooq Anwar Mirza chief editor Pahari section JK cultural academy too have paid rich tributes to the deceased.
He was a poet, writer, an academician, a scholar and a translator. He will be missed by, particularly, his students and the Pahari literature enthusiasts, those condoling his demise said.
