DC Kupwara inspects various government offices

Stresses for speedy disposal of public grievances

Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din, today conducted a surprise visit of about one dozen Government offices here, during which he checked attendance of employees and inspected functioning of offices.

During the visit, the DC inspected functioning of District Information office, Disaster Management Control Room, Pahari Hostel, Gojjer Hostel, Handicraft office, Tehsildar office Drugmulla, NTPHC Drugmulla and Middle School Muqam-e-Shahwali besides Chief Education Office and ITI Galizoo.

On the occasion, the DC held interaction with government functionaries and said that the purpose of his visit was to further streamline punctuality in Government Offices so that the grievances of the people visiting there are redressed in time. He directed officers to ensure that there is no pendency with regard to LG’s redressal mechanism.

He also directed for timely settlement of issues relating to government officials with regard to time bound promotion. He said that District Administration is fully monitoring the activities of all departments and whosoever shall fail to perform his duty properly will have to face action under rules.

At District Information Centre (DIC), Kupwara, the District Information Officer, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, briefed the DC about the functioning of the department, besides, various issues confronting the DIC unit including proper accommodation.

The DC appreciated the activities of the department and assured all possible support from the District Administration for smooth functioning of the department.

While inspecting Pahari Hostel, Gujjar Hostel and ITI, the Deputy Commissioner inspected implementation of COVID-19 SOPs in view of opening of institutes.

At New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC), Drugmulla, the DC inspected various sections of the Health Centre and directed the CMO to ensure round the clock working of the Hospital.

At Handicrafts Department Kupwara, the DC inspected the handicraft store. He directed the concerned officers to speed up the construction of handicraft showroom.

Among others, concerned departmental officers accompanied the DC during the visit.

Earlier, the DC visited Moqam-e-Shahwali and presided over a Public Darbar during which he distributed Golden Card among 07 beneficiaries and provided Certificate of Appreciation to local Sarpanch for better performance during Covid-19.

On the occasion, the DC also heard public grievances and directed the concerned officers for timely resolution of the same. He directed Assistant Commissioner Development for holding a separate Public Darbar at Drugmulla to listen to the issues of the public.
