1,000 healthcare workers turn up for second dose of COVID-19 vaccine in J&K
Srinagar: The second dose of COVID-19 vaccination for health care workers in J&K commenced on Saturday.
State immunization officer, Dr Qazi Haroon, told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that around 1,000 healthcare workers received the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination on Saturday. “The second dose was given to the beneficiaries after an interval of 28 days of first dose,” he said.
He further added that 17,200 frontline workers from different departments received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccination. “Around 1 lakh 30 thousand front line workers including 55,000 healthcare workers have received first dose of vaccination so far.”
Dr Qazi Haroon when asked about the reports that 83 percent health care workers in Kashmir have refused to get vaccinated said that those reports were about GMC Srinagar only and “the vaccination process is going pretty well at rest of the places”. (KNO)
