Srinagar: In continuation to its domestic activities, Winter Games Association of J&K (WGAJK) Thursday held Ski and Snowboard Championship for senior boys and girls at Kongdori.
The competition was held in 2 events, slalom and giant slalom.
Nearly 60 athletes, representing different districts, took part in the Championship. The race was opened by top Indian skier Arif Khan who will represent India in the upcoming FIS World Ski Championship to be held in Italy in 3rd week of this month.
In the Boys category, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh won gold and bronze medal, Waseem Bhat won silver and bronze, Haseeb Hajam won silver; Kadhif Bhat won one gold medal.
In the Girls category, Sabiya Nabi won 2 gold, Sana Afzal won silver and bronze and Zainab won silver and bronze medals.
In snowboard Championship, Mehraj Din won Gold, Zubair Lone won Silver and Firdous Ahmad won bronze medal.
The selection trials for Khelo India will be held tomorrow.
