DC Ang inspects Yatra Transit Camps

ANANTNAG: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Anshul Garg today visited Yatra Transit Camps at FCI Godown Mir Bazaar and Walnut Factory Qazigund to take stock of their preparedness for ensuing Amarnath Ji Yatra-2021.

At Mir Bazaar Transit Camp, the DC was informed that the camp has a capacity for 1500 beds. He directed the concerned to workout feasibility to increase the capacity this year.

Garg also directed for provision of proper food, accommodation, mobile toilets in requisite numbers and parking facilities for the Yatries. To ensure proper drainage of water at the camp, he asked the concerned R&B officers to install a proper drainage system.

At Walnut Factory Qazigund, similar directions were passed to the concerned to ensure that all facilities are in place for a smooth Amarnath Ji Yatra.

Later, the DC visited Ujjer Qazigund and reviewed the progress of work on Qazigund – Banihal Navyug tunnel. He directed the concerned to expedite the pace of work on the said tunnel.

The DC during the visit was accompanied by ADCs and AD FCS&CA besides other concerned officers.
