As per a police statement, the body of Shahid Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmad Malik, was spotted by the locals in an orchard at Pymus village following which a police party reached the spot and took the custody of the dead body.

Police said that medico-legal investigation has been started into the matter.

Malik had lodged a missing complaint at Police Post Soibugh on February 05.

A pall of gloom descended on the entire Soibugh area after the body of the boy was brought to his home — women were seen beating their chests amid cries and shrieks.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased demanded thorough investigation into the boy’s “murder”.

“We already searched the place where our son was founded hanging. This is murder and needs to be probed. We demand a thorough probe into our son’s death,” family members demanded.
