Intruder killed on LoC in Uri identified

Baramulla-Uri: An ‘intruder’ was killed by forces along the Line of Control in Uri sector, police sources said.

Identified as an elderly from the Kamalkote Uri who had crossed LoC in 1990 from Uri area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.

A senior police officer said that the slain has been identified as 56 year old Sarfraz Mir, Son of Sain Mir of Kundibarjala Kamalkote.

Born in 1960s, the man had crossed the LoC in early 1990 and then returned in 1992, the officer said.

He had then surrendered in 1995 and went back to Pak in 2005. Also, an ID card issued by authorities in Muzaffarabad along with a weapon has been recovered, he said. Further details are awaited, the officer added
