Srinagar: Security forces arrested three persons including a former militant, presently a government employee, and recovered a rusty pistol from their possession in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, officials said on Monday.

As per news agency KNO, the trio was arrested by 53 RR and Special Operation Group (SOG) of police during the intervening night of Feb 07 and 08 from Khansahib Budgam.

An official identified the former militant now working in the Education department as Bashir Ahmad Shah of Arigam, Khansahib. The other two are Faisal Farooq and Inam-ul-Haq—both residents of Chattabal Srinagar.

The official said a rusty revolver and an AK-47 magazine have been recovered from the trio’s possession. Further investigation is going on in the case.
