Dr Samoon pays surprise visit to Government ITIs Jammu

JAMMU: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today paid a surprise visit to Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), Jammu.

Dr Samoon was accompanied by Mission Director, Skill Development Mission, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah and Director Skill Development Department J&K, Sajjad Hussain Ganai.

Dr Samoon inspected “Electric Domestic Solution” course started under PMKVY 3.0 at Government ITI Jammu and interacted with the trainees and staff members.

During his visit to Government ITI for Women Jammu, Principal Secretary inspected “Hair Stylist” short term course being run in the Institute.

Director SDD informed the Principal Secretary that in recent months 731 ITI/Polytechnic pass outs of Jammu division have been placed in different local and Multinational Companies.

Principal Secretary issued on spot instructions for construction of workshop building at Government ITI Jammu. He also asked the Mission Director, SDM J&K, to start “Add on Skill training courses” like block printing, textile designing and fashion designing for pass out trainees including Basohli painting under PMKVY 3.0 Scheme.

Principal Secretary informed that 19 ITIs and Polytechnics across Jammu and Kashmir have been allowed to issue Learner Driving Licenses by the Transport Department.
