Rs 13,100 fine realised from erring shopkeepers at Kupwara
KUPWARA: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din, a market checking squad headed by Tehsildar Kupwara today conducted an extensive market checking across different markets of the town.
The market checking squad, besides ensuring regulation of market prices and quality control of essential items, got foot paths evicted from illegal occupation of shopkeepers and street vendors.
During the process Rs.13, 100 were recovered as fine from erring shopkeepers, street vendors etc.
On the occasion President, Traders Federation Kupwara, Showket Ahmad Masoodi assured the team that he will call a meeting of all traders, aware them and take all necessary steps to decongest the market and ensure availability of quality eatables in the market at fixed fair price.
Among others, officers of Revenue, police, CAPD, Municipality and Food Safety officers and officials accompanied the team.
