Covid-19 vaccination drive begins at PCR Kashmir; IGP Kashmir gets first shot

Srinagar: As a part of second phase of Covid-19 vaccination drive, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar volunteered to be the first to receive the vaccine shot and inaugurate the vaccination drive at PCR Kashmir. Besides, other senior officers of Police were also present on the occasion.

In the first phase of the vaccination, healthcare workers across the union territory were administrated the shots, while frontline workers including J&K Police personnel are set to be covered in the second phase. The vaccination drive was simultaneously inaugurated at all the district headquarters by concerned District SSsP after receiving the first vaccine shots.

IGP Kashmir while reiterating the value of vaccine, advised all the officials to shed any inhibition and avail this opportunity of administering the vaccine shots. While appreciating the assiduous efforts of the police personnel during the pandemic, he said that the vaccination drive will be a key factor in strengthening our defence against this disease and will facilitate resumption of our daily life schedules. He also thanked the health department officials for their assistance in administering the vaccine doses to police officials.

Similarly, the vaccination immunisation drives were started in District Ganderbal, Budgam, Pulwama, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora etc., a police spokesman said.
