IGP Kashmir visits north Kashmir, reviews security scenario

Srinagar: Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar today visited north Kashmir’s District Baramulla and PD Handwara to review the security scenario, anti- terrorists operations and other crime works. He was accompanied by DIG NKR Mohd Suleman Chaudhary (IPS).

A police spokesman said that during his visit, the IGP held meeting with SSP Baramulla, Kupwara, Handwara & Sopore and discussed different security measures taken for the maintenance of overall peace in their respective areas.

All four District SSsP briefed the IGP about current situation in their respective areas including anti-terrorist operations, maintenance of law & order and investigation progress of the cases.

IGP Kashmir urged upon the officers to strengthen the general security grid of their respective areas to ensure peace. IGP Kashmir directed the officers to take stringent action against the elements trying to disrupt the peace and order in valley. He also urged upon the officers to speedily investigate the cases in professional manner for their logical conclusion, said the spokesman.

IGP also reviewed action plan & preparedness for summer and instructed the SSsP to keep vigil on anti-national elements besides keeping focus on anti-narcotics & generating specific intelligences and conducting anti terrorist operations along with security forces.
