Man shot at by gunmen last month succumbs

Srinagar: A 24-year-old man from Soura area on the city outskirts succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS on Wednesday, nearly two months after being shot at and injured by unidentified gunmen near his residence in December last year.

Nadif Haneef Khan (24), son of Mohammad Haneef Khan of Bilal Colony Soura, was fired upon by suspected militants outside his residence on December 01, last year leaving him critically injured.

Khan, according to officials, was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment where he was undergoing treatment for severe head injuries till date.

Confirming the death, Medical Superintendent SKIMS Soura, Dr Farooq Jan said that Khan had bullet injury in his head and died in the hospital during the preceding night.

“The man was being treated here, he had a bullet injury in his head and ultimately died during the preceding night,” MS SKIMS told ‘Kashmir Images’.
