JAMMU: The Government Institutions and Government Departments across Jammu Division organised impressive functions to celebrate the 72nd Republic Day.

The events organised witnessed National Flag hoisting, pledge ceremonies and cultural programmes

SKUAST-Jammu

Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu, Professor, J.P. Sharma hoisted the national flag at Faculty of Agriculture, Main Campus, Chatha on the occasion of country’s 72nd Republic Day.

In his address, he exhorted the staff to work with full dedication and honesty towards building an Atma Nirbhar  Bharat (Self- reliant India). He congratulated scientists of the University for developing 12 new varieties of cereals, fruits, vegetables and pulses.

Prof. Sharma informed that research projects to the tune of Rs.12.11 crore have been sanctioned to SKUAST-Jammu by NABARD for agricultural development and more projects are submitted to external agencies for funding. He also applauded the efforts and resilience of Scientists of Faculties, Research Stations and KVKs, university staff, labourers and all those who are directly or indirectly associated with farm sector during Covid-19 pandemic.

Agriculture Department

Department of Agriculture celebrated 72nd Republic Day at of Krishi Bhawan, Jammu with great fervor and enthusiasm.

Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Jammu, InderJeet, hoisted the National Flag. The programme was organized jointly by All J & K Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum (AJKAOWF), Non-Gazetted Agriculture Graduate Association (NGAGA), J & K Agriculture Technocrats Association (JAKATA), All J & K Agriculture Employees Association (AJKAEA). A large number of officers and employees of Agriculture Department participated in the function.

The Director Agriculture spoke about the need to rededicate ‘ourselves to work with sincerity and devotion to the welfare of farming community. He asked all officers and officials to take pledge to work with sincerity and dedication for the cause of Nation Building.

ISM Directorate

Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine, under the Chairmanship of Director, Dr. Mohan Singh, celebrated 72 Republic Day function in the premises of Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu.

The event started with Flag Hoisting by Director ISM, (Dr Mohan Singh) in presence of the faculty and students.

The Director ISM congratulated all the employees of the Department of ISM  and remembered the Heroes of freedom struggle. He also appreciated all the employees of the department who have rendered their services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

GMC Jammu

The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated in Govt. Medical College and Associated Hospitals Jammu  with nationalistic fervour and enthusiasm.

Dr. Shashi Sudan Sharma, Principal GMC&AH hoisted the National Flag at GMCH, CD Hospital, Psy.Disease Hospital, SSH, SMGS, MCH, Boys Hostel GMC and Girls Hostel GMC in the presence of concerned Medical Superintendents of the Hospital.

The Principal said India is the biggest democracy of the world and brotherhood, harmony is its key attributes. She appealed to the medical fraternity to rededicate themselves to Covid mitigation and patient care.

Dr. Dara Singh, MS GMC; Dr. Arun Sharma, MS SSH; Dr. Rajeshwar  Sharma, MS CD Hospital; Dr. Manoj Chalotra, MS SMGS; HOD’s from various departments, wardens, students, nursing staff, paramedics etc were present on the occasion.
