Srinagar: On the eve of Republic Day, Jammu and Kashmir government announced the grant of ‘J&K Government Awards’ for excellence  in favour of personalities from various fields, an order from the General administration department issued here said.

The awards were conferred upon Rafiq Raz (poet), Late Shadi Lal Koul (Actor), Sajad Hussain Dar (Paper Machie craft), Dr. Naveed Nazir (Prof. and Head, Pulmonary Medicine, Medical college Srinagar),Dr. A.D.S Manhas (Medical Officer, National Health Mission), Riyaz Ahmad Mir (Senior Grade Nurse, Chest Diseases Hospital, Srinagar), Ms. Kanta Devi (Senior Staff Nurse, Government Medical College, Jammu), Prof. Shiv Datt Nirmohi (Writer), Sandeep Singh (Mountaineer), Ms. Kabra Altaf (Judo), Farooq Ahmad Wani (Journalist Editor, Brighter Kashmir),  Suraj Kumar Bansal (Managing Director, Saraswati group of companies).
