Kupwara: Body of an army Major was found under mysterious circumstances in Teetwal sector of north-Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday afternoon, official sources said.

They said that body of a 29-year-old army officer posted with 6 JAK Rifles as Company Commander was found dead while on duty at Jogi Post in the frontier sector.

The body, as per the official, was subsequently removed to Chamkot after information to local police.

“There is a visible injury mark on lower part of his (deceased) chin”, they said adding that “A case is being filed in this regard under 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of his death.” (GNS)
