Div Com calls for time bound issuance of NOCs to private schools

SRINAGAR: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole today chaired a meeting with representatives of Private Schools of Kashmir.

The meeting, among others was attended by Director School Education Kashmir, Director Social Welfare, CE R&B, CE PHE, Deputy Labour Commissioner Kashmir, Joint Secretary JK BOSE, SSP Traffic Rural, representative of private schools and other concerned.

During the meeting, the representative raised various issues m being faced by them while getting NOCs from different departments.

The issues raised included extension in period of recognition/ affiliation, abolishing of political non involvement certificate, end of commercial certificate, time bound NOCs, permanent registration of schools, implementation of March session, enhancement in the minimum school fee, onetime financial assistance, reduction in winter vacations, waving off of electricity and water charges, benefits of social welfare schemes to students and other issues.

Calling for issuance of certificate in time bound manner, the Div Com said that all their genuine issues shall be taken for due consideration as per new norms.

He directed concerned to disperse off all the pending application on priority and make the process as hassle-free for smooth functioning of these schools.

The Div Com instructed concerned to do away with the unnecessary NOCs including transport certificate for those schools, which do not use such facilities.

He also stressed on abolishing of political non involvement certificate and instead ask for no criminal antecedent certificate.

He said that there will be no compromise on children safety and instructed concerned to ensure all safety gadgets including fire safety equipments are installed in all school buildings.
