JAMMU: Refuting the news titled ‘JKSSB’s Contradictory Principles on Finance Accounts Assistants’ published in a local daily yesterday wherein an attempt has been made to create impression that the qualification for the post of Accounts Assistant (Finance) has been prescribed by the J&K Services Selection Board, J&K SSB has clarified that the Board being prime recruiting agency of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir has the mandate of conducting recruitments to the Non- Gazetted positions, as referred to it by various Indenting Government Departments.

As per a communiqué issued in this regard here today, the Board holds examinations/interviews including skill tests wherever required for carrying out recruitment to various posts referred to it by the Indenting Departments.

It further said that the J&K SSSB has no role in prescribing the basic/essential qualification or setting of eligibility criteria for any post advertised by the Board. The eligibility and prescribed qualification for all posts advertised by the Board is set in accordance with the Recruitment Rules and is the prerogative of the concerned Indenting Department.

Also, the syllabus for any examination is tailored out keeping in view the profile of the post, prescribed qualification and other relevant parameters in consultation with the Indenting Departments/ Professional Institutes/Experts, the Board clarifies further.
