SRINAGAR: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Saturday urged the Bar Council of India to establish its examination centre at Srinagar so as to enable the law professionals to appear in the upcoming All India Bar Examination (AIBE) without any difficulties.

In a statement issued here, Bukhari expressed deep concern over the helplessness of hundreds of legal professionals who for multiple reasons can’t afford to go outside Valley for this mandatory examination.

“Hundreds of law professionals from across the Kashmir division who want to avail permanent license are unable to go outside the valley because of inclement weather, closure of national highway and unaffordable air fares. I would request the Bar Council of India and ministry of law and justice government of India to intervene into the matter and resolve the grievances of AIBE candidates of Kashmir,” Bukhari pleaded.

He said like the recently established examination centers at Gwalior and Indore the BCI should find no hiccups in establishing a permanent examination centre for law professionals in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The inclement weather has already wreaked havoc here and it will save the travel charges of hundreds of aspirants who desire to appear in AIBE examination if an exclusive examination centre is set up at Srinagar.”

Bukhari appealed to the Bar Council of India to reflect over the request of the law aspirants of Kashmir division and relieve them by addressing their genuine grievances.
