Sopore cyclist is on a solo cycling trip to Kanyakumari

Sopore: Manan Wani, a cyclist from north Kashmir’s Sopore, started his solo cycling trip from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on Friday.

Wani, 24, will be the first Kashmiri to undertake a solo cycling trip from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, which is approximately 3,600 kilometres. He hopes to complete the trip in 26 days by covering around 140 to 160 kms per day. “In the last phase (3 days) of my solo cycling trip, I will be covering around 220 plus kms per day,” said Wani.

The solo cycling trip was flagged off at Tehsil road Sopore.

In 2018, Wani rode solo from Sopore to Leh and covered a distance of 440 kms in 20 hours and 44 minutes. He started his cycling career in 2010, when he was studying in 9th standard at Muslim Educational Trust (MET) Sopore.
