Div Com Jmu reviews progress of four-laning work on Nashri to Banihal stretch

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the progress of four-laning work on Nashri to Banihal stretch of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway here at a meeting.

The meeting was attended by Regional Officer NHAI, Hem Raj and other concerned officers, while Deputy Commissioner Ramban along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Divisional Commissioner reviewed the progress on land acquisition cases pertaining to National Highway Nashri to Banihal stretch.

The Deputy Commissioner Ramban apprised the Div Com about the progress at various key construction sites and informed that most of the land acquisition cases have been resolved, while those pending are also at different stages.

The Div Com sought details of land acquisition cases, structure removal, and disbursement of compensation and shifting of electricity towers.

The Div Com asked the DC Ramban to monitor the pace of work closely and expedite the pending land acquisition cases, structure removal for smooth execution of work on the vital road project.

While reviewing the progress on shifting of electricity towers, the concerned officers apprised the Div Com that the work is almost complete.

The Div Com asked Ramban administration to resolve the bottlenecks, if any and facilitate the executing agencies in smooth execution of work. “Expedite the progress on land acquisition, structure removal and resolve the bottlenecks which are hampering the work progress,” he directed. He also directed the NHAI to expedite the pace on the stretch where land acquisition has been completed.
