“Dr. Alok Sharma appreciated the natural beauty of Gulmarg and told trainees the immense importance of preserving the fragile mountain environment of Gulmarg. He said that Col JS Dhillon, who is known as a mountain man of India will supervise IISM activities in his absence,” reads the statement.

“Col JS Dhillon said that he is privileged to be associated with Gulmarg for a long time and will continue to promote Kashmir as one of the best adventure destination of the world. He said the youth of the nation was frustrated due to pandemic lockdowns and wanted to indulge in a fruitful outdoor activity. Therefore, Institute planned 06 ski courses till March, 2021. The Institute is so popular that all 06 courses were oversubscribed within a week. There was a time when Govt. wanted to disband this Institute when Col Dhillon was called from HMI Darjeeling to revive this defunct Institute. With his vision and hard work put in by him and his staff, IISM has become one of the best ski schools of Asia,” it said.

“Due precautions are being taken by Institute to avoid Covid-19 during the courses. Deepanjali, a student from Delhi said that she is very lucky to get admission in IISM. She said this is a world class ski Institute run by very competent professional persons like Col Dhillon & his team of Instructors. Ekta another student from Rajasthan said that she never thought that Institute has such high standards where in addition to excellent training a centrally heated accommodation and nutritious meals are provided to the students,” it added.
