Participation of people in DDC polls shows reduction in sense of fear: DGP
Srinagar: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh Saturday said that greater participation of people in the District Development Council elections shows that the “sense of fear has come down in Jammu and Kashmir”.
Talking to media on the sidelines of a function here, DGP also said that peace is getting stabilized in Jammu and Kashmir as people have participated in recently concluded DDC elections “in a big way without showing any sense of fear”.
“We have not seen such kind of enthusiasm among the voters and the candidates for the last many years, which also shows that sense of fear among the people has come down. Sense of enthusiasm and participation in government activities and democratic processes has strengthened our faith,” DGP added.
He said the security forces including police, army and paramilitary forces have enabled a ‘breather’ to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
