Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s COVID-19 tally surged to 1,19,628 on Friday with 284 fresh COVID-19 cases, while the death toll climbed to 1,861 as one more person succumbed to the disease, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 140 were from the Kashmir division and 144 from the Jammu division, they said.

Jammu district recorded the highest number of new cases at 96, followed by 65 in Srinagar.

The number of active cases in the union territory stands at 3,414, while 1,14,353 patients have recovered so far, the officials said.

The latest fatality in the union territory was reported from Kashmir, they said.

Providing district-wise breakup, the officials said that Srinagar has 24996 positive cases (including 65 cases reported today) with 595 Active Positive, 23957 recovered (including 109 cases recovered today), 444 deaths; Baramulla has 7896 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 152 Active Positive, 7573 recovered (including 06 cases recovered today), 171 deaths; Budgam reported 7525 positive cases (including 32 cases reported today) with 192active positive cases, 7226 recovered (including 28cases recovered today), 107 deaths; Kupwara has 5485 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 142 Active Positive, 5253 recoveries (including 11 cases recovered today), 90 deaths; Pulwama has 5489 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today) with 187Active Positive, 5214 recovered (including 12 cases recovered today) and 88 deaths; Anantnag district has 4754 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 104 Active Positive, 4567 recovered (including 06 cases recovered today), 83 deaths;  Bandipora has 4624 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 77 Active Positive and 4488recoveries(including 03 cases recovered today), 59 deaths; Ganderbal has 4444positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 104 Active Positive, 4297 recoveries (including 07 cases recovered today), 43deaths; Kulgam has 2651 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 69 Active Positive, 2529 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today) and 53 deaths while as Shopian has 2473 positive cases with 89 active positive cases, 2347 recoveries (including 05 cases recovered today)and 37 deaths.

About Jammu division, officials said that Jammu district has 23339 positive cases (including 96 cases reported today) with 848 active positive cases, 22141 recoveries (including 99 cases recovered today), 350 deaths; Udhampur has 4062 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 96 active positive cases, 3909 recovered (including 28 cases recovered today), 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3812 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 215 active positive, 3543 recoveries (including 11 cases recovered today) and 54 deaths; Doda has 3367 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 84 Active positive, 3222 recovered (including 17 cases recovered today), 61 deaths; Kathua has 3144 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 71 active positive cases, 3025 recovered (including 16 cases recovered today) and 48 deaths; Kishtwar has 2714 positive cases with 35 Active Positive, 2658 recoveries (including 21 cases recovered today)and 21 deaths; Samba has 2713 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 246 active positive cases, 2429 recoveries and 38 deaths; Poonch has 2438 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 26 active positive, 2390 recoveries (including 05 cases recovered today) and 22 deaths; Ramban has 2085 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 38 active positive, 2026 recoveriesand 21 deaths while Reasi has 1617 positive cases (including 02  cases reported today) with 44 active positive cases, 1559 recoveries  including 23 cases recovered today) and 11 deaths.
